Companies using lead-free solder must still dispose of their solder dross in a controlled, responsible way. Cookson Electronics Assembly Materials, Solder Reclaim Services is fully equipped to handle and reprocess all lead-free soldering alloys.

Cookson Electronics recycles all kinds of solder scrap "Cradle to Grave"	The solder scrap does not pass through many different handlers before being recycled.	1) There is a clear audit trail so that customers can identify exactly where the solder scrap goes, and hence be reassured about its safe environmental reprocessing. Companies and their employees will not risk legal implications or adverse publicity caused by any illegal disposal. 2) Customers can visit the reprocessing facility and conduct their own audit on the recycling process. A complete preaudit package is available upon request
Cookson Electronics can supply new solder bar in exchange for solder dross. "New for Old"	Credit for the solder scrap is then seen directly in the cost centre where it is generated.	This means that the true cost of the wave solder process can be measured, hence any decisions that involve costing (new designs, new subcontract projects) can be taken based on the true cost. All cost credits remain with the assembly department.

Lead-free

Lead-free solders have not only created technological challenges but have increased the cost of materials for assembly companies. A way to offset this cost is with the reclamation of your lead-free solder dross. Cookson Electronics is able to recycle the numerous lead-free alloys being used by companies today. With our refining capabilities we are able to help customers maximize the value of their materials. We provide green buckets to help customers keep their lead-free dross segregated so they can maximize its value.

Solder Paste Recycling

Solder paste is a combination of flux and solder powder and as such requires special reprocessing methods. Unused solder paste should be segregated in a separate container for recycling. Cookson Electronics Assembly Materials is a major global manufacturer of solder paste, and has all of the expertise required for its safe processing. These skills are not necessarily available from companies who do not manufacture solder paste.

Upon request, we also supply a certificate of recycling which is your proof the material was recycled.
